Basketball is known worldwide. It is played mostly of the people aside from football and American baseball in Western countries. This sport plays for pride and honor in getting a championship. It is really mainstream that even myself, got hooked up with this game particularly in Philippine Basketball Association.
Play To Live
For a 15-year-old teenage girl being addict in a game for boys would be probably weird to others. Of course, there are also some ladies who are avid fans of this game, and there's already a WNBA but really, it just makes me feel different.
I grew up watching and loving basketball. Even my uncles and cousins were even players before because of their ladder-like heights and skills. It enjoys me and I feel really cool whenever I watch a game. It's full of action and excitement plus those handsome players that would make you scream and cheer even more. ;)
I knew the game, the basketball but maybe not that well but just enough to understand the game and how it goes. But unfortunately, I can't play basketball. Wishing I can though like my friend, who's also a girl and she can play. My heart just sucks at endurance and stamina while my body sucks at strength. With that, I just cheer for my team.
And then I became a sports writer for our school paper that even enhanced and develop my knowledge about the game as well as in other sports. That even pushes my dream to be a court side reporter like our very own Erika Padilla, Sel Gueverra, and Rizza Diaz. "Kahit yun nalang ang trabaho ko para malapit ako sa mga idol ko." Yes, I even thought of that. :)
I never miss watching PBA games for several months now especially with my teams, except when I'm not at home and timing there's a game. That day when I miss a game won't just be complete. It misses half of my day and there's the feeling of loneliness that's why whenever I watch a game, it's just priceless. I'm very happy even I just watch in our TV. Hopefully I can watch live in the arenas, SOON. :)
For every game I watch, I learned how to play it, how it works, and most especially what is the game. However, I've realized it is more than that, because this game is more than just the dribbles, the scores, and even the trophies. Basketball is how you play the game, how you make a name in the field of basketball through your hardwork and perseverance to win a game. It inspires me to know the story of every player in the game and how he made it to his position right now, what he went through---struggles and victories in every conference, and that's what inspires me. The determination, the perseverance, and hardwork of every players to have victory in every game is what also matters the most. A game of moving on and being strong in every game.
The A Team
Balimbing is what you may call it but I believe how hard they work for their name that's why I'm supporting them. They amazed me how determined they are in winning every game. I salute them and will support them all the way!! #NeverSayDie #RiseHigher
TALK 'N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS
My grandfather in my father's side was the one who is a TNT fan and influenced me liking this team. They amazed me how hey are great shooters from lay-ups, reverse, and most especially those long three point shots. Their opponents can't really catch up with those shots whenever they pull the trigger to the outside of the perimeter.
They were the first team I watched after forever of not watching a PBA game. I even told myself that Lolo was right in this team. Since then, I became a fan. I had a glimpse of how they work, how they made a name for the past few years, and even how they fail and lose into their games. But I still believe in them. This team is very talented and full of determination that made me look up to them. Win or lose, will still support them because no matter what, this team will fight until the end. Together with ME.
BRGY. GINEBRA SAN MIGUEL GIN KINGS
I'm not there when Jaworski was on mainstream in this legendary team and still I was not there when Fiesta Cup happened but I am now here supporting the Barangay and NEVER SAYING DIE.
I was into this team when the Barangay was competing for finals against the Alaska Aces last year. I was also amazed how the team played and the spirit concealing them.
I learned how they play and I believe they can do it. When the crisis went over the team, I never lose hope. I just prayed they will wake up and bounce back, play how they play, and dominate the court again just like before.
This team is still standing strong together with my faith to them. No matter what they say about this team, I will never care for I know in myself what's the truth and how these guys play and I salute them because of their undying strength, determination, and spirit. Never say die!
If liking these two teams is a crime, yes, I'll accept to be imprison but I will still believe and support these teams no matter what. I know they are many bashers who are ready to tear them apart but they will never fool me. I just love these teams and they make me happy! :)
